Upon the consummation of their love, his flame is extinguished, and the spirit of the World-Tree begins marching up her own roots back to the Hall of Flame, to give birth to him again in the morning. Deep to the edge of the world lies the Hall of the Maiden, where the Young King comes to bed his wife, the spirit of the World-Tree. The occasional sandy island dots the southwestern seas, while vast floes of glacial ice churn in the northwestern ocean. Here and there, the ocean gives way to rich soil and verdant islands, many of which appear to be made entirely of mangroves and banyan forests. A single spark leaps out, and the Young King is born again, to travel across the sky and light the world for another day.įar to the west, Yggdrasil's roots wind under miles of turbulent ocean. Each night, the roots of Yggdrasil grow until they touch the Hall of Flame, and when they touch it, they are consumed. To the east, Yggdrasil's roots dig into the Hall of Flame, the massive birth-pyre of the Young King. This is the hope of the ever-patient Fair Folk of the North, who take the forms of terrible giants carved from ice. It is said that if Yggdrasil were ever to succumb, the cold of the frozen north would tear relentlessly southward, plunging the land into ice and darkness before the Wyld reclaimed it. The tree's roots spread throughout creation, stabilizing and nourishing the world and the other four Elements, even while gaining sustenance from them.įar to the north, Yggdrasil's roots dig into deep and frigid mountains, blowing with icy wind and fell fate. In the center, where the Mount Meru should stand, lies Yggdrasil - a thousand-mile tall tree that marks the Elemental Pole of Wood.
The first World created shares many aspects in common with Creation.
The genesis of this world, and three others like it, is described here. Thus, it needs to have an Exalted "feel", and everything within it needs to roughly conform to Exalted's rules and principles.Ģ. This is an alternate Creation for Exalted.
